Engineering Steel EN8
Unalloyed medium carbon steel. Used for applications where better properties than mild steel are required.

EN1A (230M07) Leaded Round Bar – Bespoke Cut
EN1A (230M07) is a free-cutting mild steel with excellent machinability. The lead content (or equivalent) provides superior chip-breaking properties, making it the preferred choice for high-speed automatic lathe work and CNC machining. EN1A is widely used for production of turned parts, studs, bolts, nuts, and precision components where good surface finish and consistent machinability are critical. EN1A offers: • Excellent machinability (rated 100% on the machinability index) • Good surface finish • Suitable for case hardening • Cost-effective for high-volume turned parts Available in a range of metric and imperial diameters, cut to your required length.

BDMS (080A15) Flats – Bespoke Cut
Bright Drawn Mild Steel (BDMS) 080A15 flat bar is a low carbon steel with a smooth, bright surface finish achieved through the cold drawing process. It offers improved surface quality, better dimensional accuracy, and higher tensile strength compared to hot rolled equivalents. BDMS 080A15 flats are commonly used for: • General engineering applications • Brackets and supports • Jigs and fixtures • Machine components • Bright fabrication work Available in a wide range of standard width × thickness combinations, bespoke cut to your required length.

BDMS (080A15) Round Bar – Bespoke Cut
Bright Drawn Mild Steel (BDMS) 080A15 round bar offers excellent dimensional accuracy and a smooth surface finish. The cold drawing process increases tensile strength and hardness over the hot rolled equivalent whilst maintaining good ductility and weldability. BDMS 080A15 round bar is commonly used for: • Shafts, pins, and dowels • General turning and machining • Studs and fasteners • Bushes and spacers Available in metric and imperial diameters, bespoke cut to length.
