Cold Drawn Seamless Tube (Mechanical)
Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS) mechanical tubes are used in applications requiring high strength and tight tolerances. "Cold Drawn" refers to the process that creating an end-product physically superior to its hot finished counterpart, offering a sleeker, smoother finish and tighter tolerances. CDS is popular for heavy equipment manufacturing such as cranes and garbage trucks, where immense strength and precision are required. Standard: BS 6323 Part 4 : 1982 Bright-as-Drawn – CFS 3 BK Annealed – CFS 3 GBK.
Cold Drawn Seamless Tube (Hydraulic)
Hydraulic Cold Drawn Seamless (CDS) tubes are used to make hollowed chrome plated telescopic cylinders and hydraulic rods. Popular for large bore, heavy walled, high pressure hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic CDS tubes offer superior physical properties and are capable of withstanding high pressure. Standard: BS 3602 Part 1 CFS Cat 2 (Alternatively DIN 2391 ST 35.4 NBK).
Hot Finished Seamless Steel Tube
Hot Finished Seamless (HFS) tubes are a cost-effective option for applications where the tighter tolerances of CDS are not critical. They feature a rougher finish but offer great machinability and are suitable for many processing techniques. Available in a wide range of sizes for structural needs. Standard: EN 10297-1. Outer diameters from 50.8mm to 660mm. Wall thicknesses from 4mm to 100mm.
